We are exited to collaborate with the Orcas Island Film Festival in showing some films for the upcoming festival. To start off we will be screening “Eleanor the Great” October 3rd and 4th at 7pm at the Seaview Theater.
Eleanor the Great is Scarlett Johansson's directorial debut, starring Oscar winning actress June Squibb as a 94-year-old widow, Eleanor Morgenstein, who, after losing her lifelong best friend, moves to New York City. There, she befriends a college student, Nina, and accidentally joins a Holocaust survivors group, where she begins telling her friend's story. This act, a journalistic endeavor for Nina's class, spirals into a complicated exploration of grief, memory, and the power of storytelling, leading to a dangerous lie that takes on a life of its own.
